Singapore GP is inviting suitable candidates to be part of the 2018 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, Asia’s biggest and most highly anticipated motorsports event. To ensure an equally spectacular event on and off the track, we seek exceptional and motivated individuals to join us to fill the following positions:

PERMANENT POSITION(S)

Race Track and Civil Engineering
Assistant Manager/Manager

You will plan and oversee the construction, operation and removal of race infrastructure at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in consultation with engineering project managers, technical consultants, motorsport authorities, contractors and government agencies. You will also work with technical consultants and motorsport authorities to design, procure or modify track infrastructure. In addition, you will oversee pre-event civil works across the Circuit Park and follow through with post-event reinstatement of parks and landscape after the removal of race and event infrastructure.

As an effective project manager, you must be able to communicate effectively with people of all levels – working with contractors on the ground, coordinate installation schedules with stakeholders, and present plans to government officials to obtain relevant approvals.

Key Requirements:

• Possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 3 years of work experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply for the Assistant Manager role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word and Excel). Some experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and is a strong team player who is proactive, resourceful and willing to learn.
• Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines, is a quick thinker and an effective problem solver
• Able to work late and on weekends when required

Event Facilities
Assistant Manager/Manager
(Technical)

You will plan and oversee the installation and dismantling of marquees, grandstands, modular viewing systems and the supply on hire furniture, fittings and equipment. In addition, you will curate special event spaces and act as a representative to liaise with key events happening at the Marina Bay.

The successful candidate must be an effective project manager who can communicate effectively with stakeholders as well as contractors on the ground, coordinate installation schedules, and work with technical consultants on space planning and timelines. You will also be required to prepare presentations and present plans to the Directors for approval.

Key Requirements:

• Possess a Diploma in Event Management with at least 3 to 5 years of work experience in event planning
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, and Excel).
• Helpful, mature and meticulous with a friendly and personable disposition
• Strong team player who is proactive, resourceful and willing to learn
• Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines, and is a quick thinker and an effective problem solver
• Able to work late and on weekends when required

Ticketing Executive/Manager

You will assist in managing all aspects of ticketing operations for the FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX. The scope includes customer service, sales and logistics support, contract evaluation, production and distribution of tickets. You are also expected to prepare and analyse daily sales reports, train and supervise temporary staff.

Key Job Requirements:

• Degree Holder in any discipline
• Preferably at least 2 years of experience in a client servicing environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

IT Manager

The incumbent will be responsible for the smooth running of network systems and applications within the limits of requirements, specifications and budget. You will be required to supervise the implementation and maintenance of the organisation’s computing needs and project manage contracts within the specified timelines, closely monitoring the test results.

In addition, you will support the Technical department in planning and overseeing implementation of new permanent wired and wireless network infrastructure for circuit-wide WiFi Internet, POS, and security use. This role involves developing technical requirements and detailed plans in consultation with engineering project managers, telecoms service providers, and equipment vendors.

The successful candidate should have proven skills, professional experience and detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice processes with hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage infrastructure, support applications and computer systems, perform helpdesk duties of troubleshooting computers and network issues in the office as well as set up of servers and users’ computers and accounts.
• Design, develop and implement systems, policies and procedures, acting in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy as well as ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems.
• Plan new network infrastructure comprising circuit-wide dark fibre installation, wired and wireless Internet at the Pit Building, and wireless Internet for temporary infrastructures as well as monitoring of ongoing installations.
• Plan, manage and evaluate IT and electronic data operations, identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
• Assist in hardware and software evaluation and selection, as well as managing of software application development vendors

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, online systems and computer hardware/software systems (Mac and Windows environments)
• BS in Computer Science, MIS or a similar field
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong team player who is proactive, meticulous, resourceful and willing to learn
• Able to work under deadline pressure, is a quick thinker and an effective problem solver
• Able to work late and on weekends when required

TEMPORARY POSITION(S)

Operations Manager (Security)

Contract Position

The incumbent will play a key role in the conceptualisation and implementation of security and safety plans for the event. You will work closely with third-party security agencies, government bodies, stakeholders and internal departments to ensure that necessary security policies and standard operating procedures are in place. You must have relevant work experience with a good track record, and is up to date with developments in the security industry.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years experience in the security industry (event security preferred). Work experience in the Singapore Police Force will be an advantage.
• Proven leadership, strategic decision-making and detailed planning skills
• Physically fit, able to work under pressure and solutions driven
• Willing to work long hours and over some weekends
• Proficient in English as well as Microsoft Office
• Helpful, mature and meticulous with a friendly and personable disposition

ENTERTAINMENT MANAGER

7 months contract:
April – October

The incumbent will support the Operations department in managing logistical functions for our artistes such as flights, accommodation, media and hospitality commitments. You are expected to be strong in strategic planning, have a keen eye for detail and have the ability to multi-task and accommodate ongoing changes. You are also required to participate in infrastructure planning for backstage layouts and internal fit-outs as well as conduct site inspections. During the Event, you will manage an on-ground crew and facilitate artiste meet and greet sessions.

Key Requirements:

• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in event management or a similar industry.
• Team player who can also function independently in a dynamic environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, good command in English.
• Possess good management, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Willing to work long hours and over some weekends
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
